Selection of materials for plate heat exchanger gaskets
Plate heat exchanger gaskets
The plate heat exchanger gasket is a ring made of a material that can produce plastic deformation and has relative strength, and is one of the important components of the plate heat exchanger.Different types of gaskets for plate heat exchangers have different temperature and medium parameters.
Nitrile rubber is generally suitable for non-polar media such as alkanes and olefins with temperatures higher than -25 and lower than 120 degrees Celsius, various mineral oils such as light and heavy fuel oils, lubricating oils, animal and vegetable oils, hot water, salt water and other media.
EPDM is mainly suitable for superheated water, water vapor, atmospheric ozone, non-petroleum-based lubricating oil, weak acid, weak base, ketone, alcohol and other media with temperature higher than -50 and lower than 150 degrees Celsius.
Fluoroelastomer is mainly suitable for non-polar mineral oil whose temperature is higher than 0 and lower than 180 degrees Celsius, such as pump oil, lubricating oil, etc. It can also be used for food oil.
